Well cared for and rare higher mileage 1987 Mercedes-Benz 300TD Turbo Diesel Wagon For Sale!

Has a clean title in my name and Carfax, registered, inspected and on the road in Washington DC. This is an all original, solid and straight vehicle, with original Black exterior paint and Palomino Leather Interior that I have owned and cared for since 2008.

It’s a higher mileage vehicle that’s a little rough in some visual details, but it always starts on the first try in winter and summer, and shifts and drives smoothly with little or no smoke. It was a southern car before I purchased it and it’s never been driven on salted roadways since moving north.

Over the years I’ve done quite a bit of maintenance and restoration work as described below, replacing or repairing many original parts using only OEM Mercedes-Benz equipment. Fluids, filters and belts were changed regularly. I also accumulated a large selection of restoration parts, particularly interior seats and panels also outlined below.

I replaced the speedometer cable and instrument cluster just as the car was approaching 400,000 miles so exact mileage is uncertain, but I only put a few miles on it with the new instrument cluster so mileage is estimated to be a little over 400,000. I’m applying for the 500 kilometer radiator emblem from Mercedes.

This car has been bulletproof mechanically but some body details and a few smaller things need attention. I no longer have the time to take care of these myself and so am selling it below market value with no warranty stated or implied.

Replaced or Repaired:
-Completely rebuilt Self Leveling System with MB OEM parts including
-New OEM Hydro-Pneumatic Rear Shocks, Accumulators, Leveling Valve and all High Pressure -Hoses needing attention
-Replaced Rear Subframe Bushings
-Replaced front and rear Drive Shaft Flex Discs
-Installed new motor mounts
-Successfully replaced notoriously difficult to replace exhaust manifold to engine block gasket
-New front wheel bearings
-Rebuilt and Balanced Injectors
-Replaced several needed glow plugs so system is working to specification
-Replaced Starter
-Replacement Stainless Steel Muffler
-New MB OEM Behr Radiator
-New Radiator Fan Clutch
-New Radiator Accessory Fan
-New Engine Bay Hood Pad (Needs to be installed)
-New Battery
-Under battery tray sealing procedure following Mercedes Source guidelines
-Speedometer Cable and Instrument Cluster
-Cold Weather Block Heater
-New Control Arms and Bushings

I’ve listed the things I know it needs below:
-Sunroof was working perfectly then suddenly stopped when closed so think it is a relay issue.
-Some small dents, finish scratches and surface rust as shown on photos.
-Small rust through spot on one rocker panel, but all jack points are solid and the body is straight and solid.
-Right rear jack storage area seam was opened up somehow as shown on photo.
-Radio Antenna motor not working.
-Oil pressure warning light malfunctioning – goes off at idle and on at higher speeds opposite of the oil pressure gauge which shows normal oil pressure and oil not being low
-Interior could use a good cleaning
-If the car sits for a couple of weeks the battery drains so there is some parasitic drain on the system
-Couple of tires need replacement due to dry rot
-Radio is not original, a cheaper after market
-Some speakers not working
