OBO ---1987 Mercedes 300D 124 body style, the famous sporty diesel mercedes sedan of the time. Car is located in Los Angeles California. This Turbo diesel 300D has a rebuilt Mercedes 300D Cylinder head about 5000 miles ago..New Hydraulic valve tappets were installed.. As a result, the engine runs very quietly and smoothly for a Mercedes 300D. I am selling this car because I no longer need it. I have too many cars. This car will run and drive, and will need tender love and care. For being this old, this car will need to work on to make it look glorious again. Paint on car is faded on the top and hood due to being parked outside. Paint on the rest of the car does not look bad. Has oil leak from being this old. May just simply needs some gaskets and seals. If you look at the pictures of the car, the car does look nice. With some work, It makes a nice daily driver. This is a California NO RUST Mercedes 300TD. Period.

My guess for no responses, is no location listed, a myriad of problems, and fewer people interested in 30 year old diesels that need engine over hauled, transmission rebuilt, paint job, interior redone on a vehicle if perfect with low miles would fetch maybe 6K, and this one has a salvage title. Sorry if I offended the OP.

Focus on the positives please. The rarely for sale 5000 mile since rebuilt cylinder head alone is worth 2500 for someone who is looking for one , not mentioning relatively new hydraulic valve tappets.

Suggest putting the head up for sale; accept a reasonable offer, and toss in the car.

Thanks for posting my ad under the classified section. I have not been on the website for awhile and forgot how to navigate around here.

The thought crossed my mind. Just paid $120 to DMV for car registration, and renewed my car insurance. Due to street parking issue, I still need the head on the block in order to move the car from one side of the street to the other. I am hopeful and looking for that one diesel loving person who appreciates the mark to buy. This car will still run and run for another at least 100,000 miles or more!.

The folks on this site only want absolutely pristine stuff. Ask me how I know. It's mostly because it's expensive and risky for them to buy a car from another state.

Dealing semi-locally with someone in person is always best.

I need to come up with something so I can go exclusively diesel and then sell off most of my other cars.
