1990 500SL Well Maintained 7k
Bought this car up from a friend that lived in LA. He was a doctor, moved away to Greece.
Car's History: Car was stolen, and found in Utah. Insurance recovered it. Various parts were missing. Parts stolen include Hardtop, front bumper, head lights, tail lights, Stereo, and various electronic modules. Insurance quoted that the repairs would cost more than 50%(not exactly sure of the #) of the car's value. Therefore, the car was given a rebuilt title after the parts were replaced. Hardtop and front bumper alone are a couple grand to replace from the dealer. Basically, car was recovered and the parts stolen were replaced. Car actually got the updated front bumper found in the newer SL's (see pics). Car has never been into an accident. Good: -Original Triple Black paint is in great shape (replacement parts came with triple black paint from dealer) -New hardtop has rarely been used. -Convertible mechanism works flawlessly -Car passed smog on 1st try, engine is healthy and well-maintained. -Ride is smooth, no problems with the suspension or alignment -Tires have lots of thread left (Michelin Pilot Sport) Could use some work: -Soft top should be replaced soon. getting old and due for a new soft top. (see these on ebay for $350~ and can be DIY'd) -Stereo head unit is acting up, an easy fix though -Needs a tow hook cover on bumper (i think dealer quoted $60-70, but I could be wrong about this) -Driver Fog light lens broke Overall: Car is currently at 130K~ miles but running great. Passed California smog on first try, which is a good indicator of a car built by mercedes back in 1990. I did not have to do much else than warm the car up and go for the test. Compression test shows all cylinders performing at optimal pressure. Also, I have a set of 8 hole 16x8 wheels that I was planning to put on the SL but never got around to it. (i included a picture) Tires can be carried over since the wheels are the same size. Will let the buyer have them for an additional 250. I will let the pictures do the rest. Note: the blurry spot under the gas cap cover is just dried water. Can be wiped off. The caps for the ignition rotors are not in the picture but I have them in my garage. Forgot to put them back in before the pictures. I am in Southern California area. About an hour away from LA and OC. Asking Price: 7000 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
