I have this car up for sale. it is Brilliantine red, with a cream interior. The original odometer has aprox 78k on it. The odometer isn't working, but I have owned the car since 1999 and it hasn't been driven much as I just don't have time. Needs some electrical work on the windows, and I have a new odometer, a/c heater control panel and electric antenna for it, a/c compressor is also not working. I bought a set of real lambs wool seat covers for front seats. Has a kenwood stereo, interior is in pretty good shape, has original first aid kit in rear window. Has sunroof, runs really great. Car has been kept in shop since 1999 so the paint is also in good shape. I checked Kelly classic car blue book and low on this one is bit over $8000.00. I am asking $6000.00 obo. Buyer must arrange own transport.

As stated the car is domiciled in Willow Springs, Mo. I will get the vin and add it to posting in a couple of days. I am on the road and will have to phone home and get it.

The Russian site claims that's an incorrect VIN. Says it should be seventeen digits.

what is the russian site??
I am a truck driver, so I don't have access to title all the time, but I will call home and see if my mom can double check it, that is the number she gave me off the registration.

The Mercedes Benz club of Russia has a web-page where you can enter a car's VIN and it will supposedly give you the whole technical spec's and options for your vehicle etc. Many on this forum rate it highly. I've never used it myself and cannot vouch for the accuracy of the info. However I entered the number you posted and it came back saying it was incorrect and needed 17 digits etc. No idea if that's true or not. Anyway I've posted the link to it below so you can check it out. Nice car you're selling by the way. One of my dream cars when I was growing up and I like the color combo too. Unfortunately too far away and too much for me. Especially with bad a/c. Good luck with the sale though.

only recognizes the vin's of 1980 and newer MB's. . his vin is correct in format

107.024- 450SL-C
1.2-LHD/Automatic transmission
26787-serial number

(this car is 6003 chassis higher than my 450 SL-C, which would put it inline for a '79)

You need to put WDB in front of the vin to get the ruskie site to work. It works for me with that.

Interesting to see this info on my car. Wondering though, says that the first aid box is eliminated? It is still there built into the rear window dash. it has some of what I believe is the original supplies in it. Kinda curious. Interesting. Wish I could find out more like how many were produced for sale in the states and stuff like that.
