Never understood why people "upgrade" their badge. S430 to S500. Anyhow, good luck and you got a free bump.

As a rule of thumb, rebadging will usually knock a full second off your quarter mile time.

Rebadging in Germany used to go the opposite way:

people (like one of my spouse's cousins) with the big V8 "S" cars used to remove the badges and/or replace them with those from the cheapest version of that chassis in an attempt to avoid violence and vandalism from the Red Army Faction and the Greens. You could even request them delivered badgeless from the factory.
