I don't doubt that performance/luxury wise this car will kick ass. But it looks to me like an Acura (or something Japanese) coupe! Nothing against Japanese cars, just that a Maybach should look distinctive, not trend following.

This is a nice Photochop. I don't think this is the actual car. It probably started as a CL500 picture.

I sat in a Maybach earlier this week. In a word, it's BIG. If there were ever a coupe version it would take three men and a small boy to close the door!

Mike:
I got to check out both versions of the 'Bach at the Chicago Auto Show. On the larger version, the 62, there is a switch above the door(edge of the headliner) that brings the door to the closed position (to the point the auto door closer, like the 140 or 220) Works real slick. Those doors ARE huge, you'd really have to step out of the car, at least with one foot, to reach the door pull on the rear of the 62. To clarify, assuming there is no chauffer(which probably there would be on a 62 anyways), you open the door. get in, press the button, and the door closes, fairly slow close, comfortable speed, put it that way. Did your place of business get the Maybach franchise?

Hi Gilly. My dealer will be one of four Maybach dealers in New Jersey. We've got dedicated floor space in our showroom(kinda' like a showroom within a showroom)for the Maybach. We're starting construction of the "Maybach only" service bay soon as well. Since the car weighs in at 6000+ lbs. it can't be serviced on a standard automotive lift. It should be quite interesting to see what kind of things the car will need besides maintenance.

OK with the look of it but I 'm wondering if driving a 20-feet long coupe would be any fun.

Arrow

I think the Maybach was meant to be a limousine with a chauffeur...I really doubt the coupe will become reality...the target market is just not there...

Are they anticipating some real problems early on with the Maybach like the rest of the MB line?
