My wife and I will be there in the 80 240D. we will be coming from the North.

We are leaving in the morning (3am) for Portland Or. and leaving there on the 13th, be home the 14th. then figure we`ll leave here on the 17th, grab a Motel down in your area. so we will be fresh and alert for the GTG.

Now if the 240 holds up for the commitment we just gave her.

I will try to make this, I have only one car in CA as I type this and that is Rose. I am in the middle of packing to move to Kingman AZ by Months end. Will do what I can to be able to attend and say goodbye (or just farewell as I intend to see you guys again sometime) to everyone.
I do intend to have a GTG/Drive in Western AZ, probably next spring,(it is close enough for CA guys and gals to attend) Kingman is only 300 miles from Acton. We could arrange it to fall on the Annual Route 66 Fun Run. 2013 Fun Run was last weekend and Kingman was flooded with classic cars and rods. What's a few more Classic Mercedes to add to the fun.

Will bring Hand Held CB Handi Talkie, Channel 0ne . zero. Suggest you do the same. Used them on a recent drive and worked well for the leader and last car to keep tabs on the gang.

HMMM...did that make sense? anyway, Iam coming down from Santa Cruz, so either place we can meet up, we`ll just grab a Motel fri night so we are fresh for the morning run.

This was supposed to be a North meets South cruise with a separate group meeting somewhere up North, and driving South together and meeting in Lompoc. There seems to be no interest from anyone up North to organize the trip South, so I guess everyone from the North is on their own. Jim B. usually comes down here from Grass Valley to cruise with us, so maybe you and him can get together and caravan together (unless another Northerner joins in). It is entirely up to you. If you met us at Norms, you would be driving more miles than you would have if you just drove to Lompoc. Still the choice is yours. Whatever you would like to do, it is alright with us......Rich

I've decided not to attend. A weekend camping trip, for example, would be OK but an all-day drive (~5 hours each way) to have lunch in Lompoc is not one of my big desires in life. There are a lot of great places to eat along US-101 but Panda Express is not one of them.

Hi Rich,

Can we find a better restaurant than Panda Express? There are some nice restaurants 1/2 way to Solvang, it is also a scenic drive.
