New G plus story about Gurkha

I like it! What's with that link on there at says "The first real picture of the new G class" and it opens up a pic of what looks like an 'old' (current production model) G class with an old 115 (or something of the similar era) grille and bumper?

Gurkha;
I posted a link to the Indian g-wagon site on the British g-wagon site and sent a message to a forum member who runs that site. He denied that your G-wagon (Gurkha) is a G-wagon. Why the resistance to recognize it for what it is????

Kerry, I guess the Made in India label is what gets people off specially when MBZ sells this in Germany through its own dealer network. Snobbery and ego is something hard to comprehend, most MBZ trannies and some MBZ diesel engines as well as three MAN engines are being manufactured by the same guys who make the Gurkha but sadly you are always bound to get the same response.

I got way more flack at the G-Wagen forum for even posting about the Gurkha.

At Euro 20000 you get a tank tough bodied utillity vehicle which isnt going through an identity crisis, it has the same features of the G at less cost. German Off Road magazine gave it their best rating and whats more, it has higher towing capacity than the G due to its MBZ 407 truck differential.

I too like this body style and resent any bulbous look of the newer plastic clones, for instance, Toyota's real Land Cruiser sold in Africa, Asia and Australia still sports the strong utilitarian look with minimalist fittings, it is built for the sole purpose of lasting off road, thats all.

Yea Gads! not the G wagen.............
