Need some W124 Euro headlight info
I'm considering switching to the euro headlights on my 87 300D and I looked over the chapter in the E-class Bible that talks about this and I did some searching on this board as well. What I want to know is whether it's possible to just replace the lenses without messing with any of the electrical stuff or the wipers, since I'm not interested in higher light output, just the better looks that the euro lights provide. I would also appreciate some pics of W124's with euro headlights to get a better idea of what they look like. I've seen them a couple times, but I don't remember the details.

I really don't think you can replace only the lenses. The entire swap isn't hard at all. You can get it done for maybe $250.

I am also interested in upgrading my 87 300d. I replaced my 84 with cibie and what a great difference. I did run overwatt bulbs 80/100 with no problems. I look forward to doing it with the new 87
You will most likely have to change the bulb adapters as they insert into the bulb. I got mine from a junk yard. cheap let me know if you need any help putting it together. I would look on ebay. You can get them for about 225 or so. good luck bob c |

You have to replace the whole light assembly. Do a search on this forum for "W124 euro headlights" and you'll get lots of info.

Lenses only can be done on '94 and '95 model W124
Those 2 years were slightly different front ends with different head lights. You can change the lenses independently of the whole assembly.
