Post your mileage milestone photos here.

My '85 300D reached an interesting mileage milestone today and I was ready to take a photo of its speedometer's odometer when it happened. I pulled off to the side of the road when it happened to do it safely. Even the trip odometer matches the main odometer. This is an actual photo that has not been altered except to fit as a post.

Not a diesel.... but... cool nonetheless..

Call me a dork, but there is something about the way these 80s MB instrument cluster that make them look so 'business-like'

NICE! I haven't been able to get mine past 85 because the car vibrated too much by then.

Route 28 @ Dulles Airport

Just about the same time the alternator crapped out. Still runs like a champ though!

edit: the tachometer is ~500 RPMs low.

Ok, there is a little glare down here in sunny Double Oak, Texas. But the reading is 298,337.

OK, John,

How the hell do you take a picture with the vehicle going 106 mph? One slip of that wheel and it's all over

With one firm grip on the wheel. 106mph feels like 55 mph in a properly maintained W126. You don't have to be Mario Andretti to drive at that speed. It was also 2AM on a 5-lane one-direction highway. If anything did happen the only person I would take out would be myself.

When my 85 Nissan 300 ZX Turbo turned over 100,000 mi, I was going 100 mph with "Jumping Jack Flash" blasting out of the speakers.

How do I top that when this 300 Turbo hits 300,000 in a couple of months?

Get the vehicle up to about 103 mph (probably the limit), set the cruise, play the Jumping Jack Flash CD, get naked, open the sunroof, stand up on the seat, steer with your left foot, and THEN attempt to take a shot of the odometer when it crosses 300K

That ought to have John beat.

There's been pix of speedos upto 140 mph (one being a 560SEL stretching its legs in Montana). Can't find the pic right now...

I don't think a 126 with a 617 with 300K on the clock is going to be seeing 140 mph any time soon.
