Quick question:

Glow plugs do they deteriorate (sp) over time like spark plugs or do they just die and they are done.

Yes they do wear out the resistance in the filament nears infinity which is what it'd be if the filament were broken. A rough test is to check the GP resistance with respect to ground, it should be from .6-1ohm of resistance. Also only replace with bosch, autozone is the cheapest place for them so I hear.

I lost my 81 300d in an accident and I bought an 83 300d. I just replaced the plugs in the '81. I thinking about switching them, since i just bought them.
