recent picture of my SDL..

Took this a little while ago.

She's a little dirty, but she's looking good and riding great.

I plan on tinting the windows smoked silver today. What do you guys /ladies think?

Looks nice.

I didn't remember seeing this car with chrome 8 hole wheels when Turbodiesel owned it.

Did you change the wheels?

Those wheels were on my 1985 SD that got totaled. I figured these looked a littel nicer to go with the silver color.

I still have the MB alloy rims if anyone is interested.

Joe Blowe,

The car is massive, which is the reason I have loved that car since high school. Actually the 1984 SD was my first exposure in my senior year. The SDL's came out in 86 - 87. I was trying to go to Rutgers then.

For reference, the vehicle it is parked next to is one of the vans I use for my company. It is a 1993 E350 club Wagon(huge) and the SDL is not that much shorter.

Love my car.

Plantman,

There's something about that picture of yours that really accentuates how MASSIVE that car is!

Who said anything about retiring?

I may not drive as much as John, few people do. There are no plans for that car to sit anytime soon.

Last weekend, West Palm Beach to Key Largo. This weekend Miami to middle keys....she was born to run baby.

FWIW, the long bumpers of the SDL make it a couple of inches longer than a LWB W140.

Nice. I think the smoke silver tint'll be sweet. What color is the interior? I'll be (hopefully) picking up my new (to me) 86 300SDL this weekend. Silver with navy blue interior. Your pix ain't helpin' my anxiousness. :-) Post some pix after you get the tint.
