Thanks a bunch for the info Dr. Diesel. Since you brought up the heat issue again, I'm wondering about my fan clutch. One day when the engine temp was showing 100 C and ambient temp was 85 F, I opened the hood to watch the fan when I shut the engine off. The fan was complete freewheeling - no resistance at all. Is this a valid test on my car?
