Question on wide alloys
I just purchased some extra alloy rims off ebay and discovered upon arrival that they are the wider ones. They were off a 380 SE
1. Will they still fit my 300's? 2. Do I need to put 205's on them? thanks Don

Do not really have any idea what size they are or how wide or from what year... However the easy way to tell is pull a front wheel on one of your 123 cars and check if they bolt up and clear the tie rod ends.. That is the main thing you have to look for on the 123 cars.. I have wheels from a 126 on my 300TD and they clear the tie rod ends just enought to get wheel weights on the wheel... but the wheels from the 92 300CE will not even come close to fitting as the offset is to the inside and hits the tie rod ends..
The rear has good clearance so if it fits the front it will fit the rear... Unbolt one and see how it goes.. Ken |

Diesel Don,
The offset is more important the 1/2 inch difference in the width. Look on the inside of the wheel and you will find numbers cast into the wheel. The P/N, diameter, width and ET (offset) will be there if they are original MB wheels. Compare these numbers to the numbers on your original wheels.
