Tranny Question .. HELP
Hi MB experts,
Here is the problem, the automatic tranny on my car works just fine when its cold (shifts are where they should be and exactly how i like them) and when the tranny gets hot it starts to flare from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd even letting the engine rev for a split second in neutral ... What could be causing this ??? any ideas .. modulator maybe?? Car is a 1986 190D 2.5 4 speed auto |

Hmm that sounds like it could be a number of things first thing I would check is that the vacume line has not come off from the vacume modulator towards the rear of the tranny
also if the fluid and filter are dirty you'll get the same type of problem. might be time for a fresh drink usually once you change the filter the tranny acts like she's brand new That's all I can think of at the moment Jeff |

there may be a 50 degree switch
On my om603, there is a 50 degree switch that supposedly changes the shifting as the engine warms. If your trans was installed and setup based on the switch being off, maybe it would flare when warm.
On the 603, the switch has a single pole and is located on the front right of the engine looking forward (near the turbo). That is what I would look into. later
