Cracked engine mount

I was changing the oil on the 1985 190D that I drove back from CA in February. I noticed a crack in the engine mount!

These aren’t the round ones, more of the old style. It doesn’t seem that they’re readily available for both sides.

Is anyone aware of any interchanges? Like from gas engines or other models?

The hood vibrates a good amount, especially when cold. I suspect this is the culprit.

Don't know the 190D, but appears the replaceable rubber motor mount with a steel shell which is cracked. Hard to tell in photo, but appears brittle steel like cast-iron or perhaps cast aluminum. I would get it on ramps and look at it while idling and feel it. If the cracked gap isn't moving, unlikely it is affecting engine vibrations. The load is axial and carried by the rubber, so don't know if that side crack affects the rubber much. It doesn't appear to be squashing out the gap. Depending on thickness and where the bolt holes are, you might find another mount, say from a classic U.S. engine which would fit, if no way to find a replacement. My 1964 and 65 Mopar engines have similar flat rectangular motor mounts for my slant-six, small-block, and big-block engines. Those varied in thickness over the years. The 1970's Dart changed to a totally different round donut rubber mount. Perhaps same for Ford and Chevy. Peruse Rock@uto for photos, and some have dimensions.

I tried to fit a Corvette fluid-filled mount in my 1985 300D to see if it could reduce the vibrations, but it was slightly too tall to fit. I had rethreaded it's top center stud to match the tapped hole in my 300D motor bracket. I could have made it work by welding up a special steel bracket, as people do to retrofit modern engines in classic cars.
