OM602 Fan clutch brand?
What brand would you trust for a fan clutch?
I am seeing Genuine Mercedes for 190$ or so. Behr at 120$ or so. Febi at 60 something. Anyone had luck with the Febi one working? thanks, James

I also found Borg Warner for 145$ from ID parts.
I'm leaning toward Behr.

![]() FWIW, my 602 was “upgraded” with the plastic fan that takes a 606 clutch. This is the brand of OE. I think at one time I had looked at a few manufacturers and only one made them this style with the strip on the top. So that may be a clue…

I heard that Behr is now made in china, so I am now thinking Borg Warner. I'll check if it has the strip.

On the picture of the Borg Warner, it says "Germany"

I’ll be interested to know what you get. I’ve heard that the clutches from Autozone are actually decent and may be US made. I forget the quality brand they source but it was somewhat surprising in the race to the bottom supporting the Chinese military complex and spy balloons.

Yes, the Borg Warner one I'm looking at is for the 602 and is on ID parts. I am pretty sure mine hasn't been upgraded to the 606 fan.

The best is the Horton branded clutch, my old OM606 car had the Behr one and it acted like an on/off switch rather than a slipping fan clutch.
I changed it to Horton and it behaved exactly like you expect a clutch fan to work. However, you can revitalize the old clutch with some silicone fluid from an RC car that you can get from Hobby stores.

I'll see if I can find a Horton.
