Unneeded small problem with 300SDL, battery swap-windshield wiper fluid tank
You have to remove the fluid tank to undo the down hold down clamps. I got the heavy battery back in place, had it bolted down, and then I noticed one of the fluid tank lines had popped off, and I couldn’t find the fitting. One of the lines goes up to to sprayer nozzles, the other one goes over to the left side of the vehicle. Here are some photos. I do get that it’s a longshot anyone will know about this. Surely it connects to the other end of the line, disappearing into the hood, a return line for the fluid. The battery is standing on its end in the photos, looks a bit odd. I had put it in, but lifted it up to see what was going on.

I looked at my 1987 300SDL and it does not have that hose. I have one, coming from one pump, that goes to the headlight washers and another, from the other pump, that goes into the hood and to the windshield washers. The electric wire that comes from the ww heaters comes out on the drivers side of the hood.

Ah, headlight washers. I didn’t look that direction. The car is at my mechanic’s now, I’ll check it out later. I forgot all about that, that might be it.
