E-Torx sockets; need for E11, E22, E24?

I'm planning to buy a set of E-torx sockets. Some include E22 and E24; others stop at E20. Some include E11; most do not.

If my shade-tree wrenching is limited to passenger vehicles, how likely am I to encounter E22 and E24 fasteners? Can you think of any examples? How about E11, which must be uncommon enough that most tool makers don't see the need to include it?

I have yet to use the E11 but have 2 sets with it. My set tops out at E20, haven't needed that or larger yet. Depending on the model, E8, E10 E12 and E16 seem the most used on my OM642, although I haven’t done any major work, those sizes seem most prevalent. Suggest you get both a short and deep socket set, sometimes one works better than the other due to packaging. Also invest in wobble extensions or adapters for the same tight packaging concerns.

Thanks for the reply.

I get the impression (based on anecdotal evidence, not careful research) that BMW uses E-Torx fasteners more often than other manufacturers. Applications outside the engine bay, such as suspension and drivetrain components, might use the larger sizes. But I have no immediate plans to buy a BMW.

A set of E-torx ring spanners and E-torx Allen keys are a must have also… lots of components on my Jeeps om642 where the torx ring spannners can be slid under fuel rails and hoses to loosen bolts where socket use would mean removing a part to get access.

I also cant comment on BMW, haven't owned one for 20 years.
I also cannot comment on late Mercedes models either for chassis bolts.

In my case, the OM642 MB built uses the Etorx alot for all major fasteners, but also uses standard Hex bolts for secondary fasteners. The OM642 is in a Jeep, and most of the Jeep chassis/suspension uses Hex with some regular torx but have not found an E-torx used anywhere other than the engine. The only reason I have them is strictly due to the engine.
