603/606 bell housing bolt size?

I’ve tried looking everywhere I could think of, but so far not found it.
What is the bell housing bolt size for 606/603?

I don’t need actual bell housing bolts, just need few to mount engine to engine stand.

I guess one other question is would 4 bolts into the thicker/more supported bell housing holes be strong enough to hold engine?

Or should I make 4 brackets that take 3 or 4 bell housing bolts each and then bolt engine stand head to them?
Have one ton stand that has 4 arms to mount to engine.

Looking at bell housing end of block it looks like should have more than 4 small bell housing bolts to hold the engine.

Cheers, Allen

This should be the part number for the bolts that connect the starter, transmission and bell housing all together. You already have two of these so you only need two more.
I did this with my OM602 that sat on an engine stand for 4 months no issues but the 602 has one less cylinder so it’s a little lighter.

Thanks, it’s going into a 69’ Series IIA 100” Land Rover. R380 gearbox, LT230 TC, Diamond Axles Land Cruiser housings & FJ80 3rd member.
Have stumpy bell housing (short bell housing so engine sits back right close to firewall.
Will make about 280-300hp, 325ftlbs, 603 pump with 7.5mm elements & Kangaroos Team custom cast iron manifold, they are coming out with high Ni alloy so almost as rust proof as SS. :-)
Built custom chassis.

Dropped block at machine shop today to be hot tanked & then will work on it with brushes in all the water galleries. Picked up 4 M10 grade 8 bolts & hand full of washers, hardware store didn’t have the correct length for engine stand head in standard grade bolts.

It is 17mm bolt. I have a few OEM ones in my junk bin.

Mother Benz typically uses 10mm diameter bolts to attach the transmission/bell housing to the engine/intermediate plate.

If they are internal wrenching it will be 8mm hex, if external wrenching, 15mm.
Neither the thread diameter nor the wrenching are 17mm.
