W126 GEN 1 (81-85) Windshield Wipers - What are the 2021 choices?

Looking at the older posts, it seems that the GEN 1 W126 wipers are due for an update. So far, these are the wipers users have liked:

- P7032-19643 Wiper Blade Set Bosch
- Trico Teflon 15-210
- Anco (22") (Any idea of part #?)

I currently have Bosch OEM style. Does anyone know if rubber replacements are available? With from Bosch or others?

Anyone have success with PIAA silicone or Bosch Icon? If so, what part numbers did you use?

Post here if there are other wipers that have worked well for your 1st Gen 81-85 W126.

Theseus owned a ship in Greek mythology, and when a part of the ship needed replacing, it was replaced. Eventually, everything was replaced. Is it the same ship? (I own the car of Theseus. )

While I don't have a 126, I use Bosch Icons 100% on all my cars (Mercedes and Audi). Just measure the length, that's really the only difference.

I've never once in my entire life been able to find replacement blades for "replaceable blade" wipers. YMMV.

You can get replacements at NAPA. I buy inserts for my w115 and w116 there.

I love Project Farm! When I see what modern equivalents can bring, its like replacing halogen with LEDs. It just makes sense to take advantage of modern technologies for some applications. I'll pursue the Bosch and Michelin options to see what results.

Ok, you can take this FWIW, but I live in the Pacific NW and we see close to 100 inches of rain a year so the wipers on my daily driver get used, and used a lot. The best ones I have found to suit my needs are Anco blades......

Again, take it FWIW.......

Do you know what model number/size you use for Anco? Is it the full cage replacement or just a refill?

Regardless of what brand you settle on, buy them 2" shorter than what's listed. Otherwise, the swing of the arm may be further than you want. Perhaps the PO put them on rotated wrong but in your case, likely not.

i've always been a fan of the el-cheapo Bosch Direct Connect for older Mercedes. I have found that their non beam, that is to say traditional, construction conforms to the edges of our windscreens better. I also find that they last just as long as the more expensive ones are a fraction of the price.

I really wish project farm had tested the PIAA Si-Tech blades, I've never used wiper blades that work as good and last as long.

I'm unsure what size the W126 uses, but I'm thrilled that my W123s and 2nd gen dodges all use 20" blades, so I know the part number I need for anything, Piaa 97050.

I've bought a pair for each vehicle over the past few years, the oldest ones I bought in August 2018, and they still work flawlessly, even with sitting outside in the TN sun. No streaks, not overly noisy in my opinion, just work great.

They are a bit pricey though, but I don't buy a new set every year like I used to with every other brand I tried.
