Air filters won't fit on a 300D
I am stumped at why the air filters I've tried will not make it over the inner perforated ring in the air filter housing. When I purchased the car, the filter was also very difficult to remove- I had to cut it to get it over the inner ring. This shouldn't be so difficult. Is there something I am missing about the filter housing?
I've tried MANN C 30 122 and Mahle 021 094 0011. Any advice would be very helpful! John |

The mann C31190 should work, as it is what I remember using. Whatever it is that ******** recommends should do.

figured it out...
Thank you for the quick reply. I do have the wrong part. For 1984 Mercedes 300D turbodiesel, the Mann part number C 30 122 comes up on some searches and sites, but not others. The correct filter appears to be MANN C 31 190 On the MANN website, both filters (C 31 190 and C 30 122) apply to overlapping year ranges but the 31 190 filter appears if you search for the car and year from scratch. The correct filter is 1/2" larger in diameter. |
