I think it's pretty cool

Can't wait to see more, that should be sweet. Although I've always wanted to be a weirdo and go the other way, a modern car but with an old, easy to work on powertrain. I'm just like that.

Diesel SL is a cool swap, but that is one very poorly executed example. Self tapping screws? Wire nuts? Yikes.

Anyway I would much rather have a 617 r107 than the swap he's doing.

Meh, there's nothing special about a w204. Nobody is going to miss it. I'm looking forward to seeing the 500hp R107 with a modern transmission.

Agreed, I always enjoy watching people shoehorn really complex systems into older cars. Way more work than I'd ever bother with, but fascinating. I'm betting the entire front subframe has to go to make the modern lump fit with a steering rack.

I also agree, no one will miss that car... The R107 will continue to be a collectors item, while the news ones will continue to be disposed of....

Can you imagine the fun you would have circuit racing on 125mm doughnut spares tires? Any car, any HP any downforce is fair game but they have to use temporary doughnut spares. I'd pay good money to watch it.
