Om606 Electric Injector Vs OM606 Manual Injector Pump
Hello Guys,
Brand new newbie to Mercedes Diesels, had some mitsubishi diesels before. Now I own a 1997 E300D OM6069612 Black Beauty. A few questions: What are the main differences between the OM606 Electric Injector pump and the OM606 Manual Injector pump? How does the epump work incomparison to the Manual? Can the epump be modded to supply more fuel? What is the correct procedure to prime the system when run out of fuel? Will adding a small 12V fuel pump along the supply line aid in priming the fuel system and bleeding the air from the fuel system? Can an OM606NA be Turbo'ed? If a small turbo is fitted will it have disastrous effects? Thanks in advance for the info |

OM606 Electric Injector Vs.OM606 Manual Injector Pump: Choosing Right Fuel Delivery
The OM606 Electric Injector is much more tuned for performance as compared to Manual Injector Pump systems. It includes features such as fuel control and modifications that make it more flexible in relation to the needs of the user. The OM606 fuel injectors’ timing can be altered through an EDC which leads to better fuel optimization and a more responsive throttle. This option is well suited for people who want to achieve a specific level of performance or have plans to use modern methods of tuning an engine.
Although its simpler, The Manual Injector Pump has a fairly rough and unresponsive performance due to the absence of an electronic control unit which require constant supervision and maintenance. These setups are mostly preferred by older enthusiasts looking for a traditional feel or those running an environment with no electronic parts and diagnostics were available. These two options offer great help to the OM606, and choosing one will be due to the target build whether it be off-road durability or best efficiency on the road. |
