Interesting hangers, but I don't need any.

Wonder why they only specify them for the 560SL and no other MB models?

MTC brand

Buy the MTC brand from the Haus in Arizona.

They definitely fit your W123 and have the chain molded in.

You are richer than I am - those hangers cost about $27 each from MB!

This site says they don't fit the W123. That is an aftermarket one which is a LOT less expensive. They may just not "officially" fit Wonder if the cheap knock-offs have the chain?

All academic for me - I have the type on my W123 that I posted a pic of earlier . My 107, has the usual "factory correct" donuts

I already have these on 123 : 1244920044. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-mercedes-benz-parts/exhaust-hanger-priced-each/1244920044/

They are OE Mercedes, so possibly installed 22 years ago by MB dealer when complete exhaust was replaced. They didn't include them in the parts installed back then but can't believe they would have used existing ones. Could be, we put those on 8 yrs ago when the muffler was replaced.

Never had a muffler or pipe fall off in 30 yrs of ownership of my old Benzes so happy to use these or the donuts.

I checked one of my spares with magnet, and the OE 1244920044 does not have a steel core. Maybe explains why cost is $7.00 vs $27.00

Are we now done with donuts

My problem is with tight fit of the ANSA pipes/mufflers. Now good most of time, but making noise on tight right turns at low rpms.

This will help you get them installed without much difficulty.

In my experience I would have said the only difference between wagon and sedan is the tail pipe which on the wagon outlets to the side instead of rear. That tail should work on a sedan, I would think.

The coupe has a shorter wheelbase so the center section should be shorter 4"?

Minor interference should be correctable by pounding a dent in the exhaust with a large ****** hammer.

A bad motor mount could cause metal to metal on the exhaust too.

I looked up the part number and what you say is correct. The part numbers for wagon and sedan have changed at times, but front and mid seem to have been the same. Rear was different.

I have sedan, so we did not run into problems. However, I did have vibration against chassis and then later a loud thumping after starting engine cold (more vibration, I guess) Was OK once on road.

I appear to have opposite problem. If engine was lower (as it would have been before new mounts were installed) the front pipe at the lower flanged connection would have been lower. With new ANSA pipes and new mounts it is higher and there is inteference just behind the flanged joint where the pipe is a slightly larger diameter.

No hoist at my place, so yesterday, I spent some time under car I loosened & adjusted front connections and brackets, pried the exhaust lower, reclamped. I only gained about 1/8" No noise at present, but I suspect that won't last.

In looking at it, it seems the pipe from the flange back needs to be lowered. Could be that the weld at front end of mid section is not properly aligned and is pushing the flange upwards?

I may be able to gain enough by rotating the rear muffler so it's front pipe moves downwards. The drawing may help see why. May need to see when my friend's hoist will be free!

Just had front one of these fall off while inspecting muffler position

The one at tail pipe is still there, and doesn't seem to be much use. I may swap them and get another later. Broken one can probably be attached with bolts and/or adhesive.

Found I had a stash of new OE donuts in my SL trunk, so will replace all on 123.

Just taking a break - It is HOT out there!

Ended up repairing broken buffer. Used a rubber well nut. Plus some 3M 5200 on chassis. I think it will stay there!

I should have waited until I could get access to hoist I now have muffler off and rotated a bit, but it is tough job under car to get all 4 hangers back on. I am going to try putting jack under tail pipe to get hooks closer. Might have to disconnect front flange first.

I got the exhaust back together, but it still does not fit properly. May have to get exhaust shop to cut and weld for proper fit.

While under there, I noticed that the ANSA sticker was pasted over another sticker. THis one was from Klarius, who are no doubt the manufacturer. So when we think we buy OE German parts, we actually get aftermarket, in this case, made in the UK Quality is not too good compared with the originals. Anyone seen this when buying ANSA from other vendors? Big K stamped into Muffler is the big clue!

Seems like ANSA and Klarius are now affiliated. Just don't expect quality equivalent to the originals!
