In tank filter swap 79 300d

Yesterday I finally swapped the in tank filter for my 300d
I purchased by in January.

To make the job easier I purchased an ADBlue Filter tool that happened
to be the same size (46mm) as I needed for this filter.

To be honest I don't think I would have been able to remove the filter
with the tank in the car without it as I had exert a lot of force to break
it loose.

Looking at the picture attached it appears the wrong filter was installed.

Initially the part number for the old one came up as a "gas" filter
but the info I found is not conclusive.

Anyway, 290,000 miles and a new in tank filter.

It should have the label "Diesel" on it somewhere, but since there were no diesel 107's, its not likely it was the correct filter.

The new one does.

It seems to accelerate better.
