I do that sometimes but the auto doesn't really allow it to rev far enough to get more than 3-5 psi. I try not to abuse the 722.3 anyway. They suck. Never trust it to shift at high rpm. My 300sd just tonight decided it likes 2nd gear starts all the sudden. That works fantastic with a car coming at you. I'm keeping the 300sd for reliable get me where I need to go but I'm building the 300sdl with a 6 speed manual and maybe the compound setup. Just being able to rev it up should aleviate most of my issues though. Its a pile but getting thst drivetrain sorted is the plan.

603 is better suited for a supercharger simply because of a serpentine belt setup. You may not even need a custom pulley just a longer belt and maybe more tension on the belt. In either case you need to make a custom manifold with bracing to prevent any cracks from the weight of the supercharger.

would love to see one let alone hear it in action

The advantage of that is like with a turbo the idle air can easily be come in past the Compressor Wheel. A positive displacement blower/supercharger has to keep turning as it won't let in idle are if it stops (assuming there is no special bypass valves for the idle air).

Do you mean CORD?. I think it was the first car with pop up headlights.

MB had the 540K in the 30's that had a supercharger which engaged at full throttle. Original ones are worth millions. Plenty of replicas with weird engines though

That is the one.
There was a used car dealership that had a show room and with a 20 foot ceiling and the show room was mostly circular and had Glass around 60 percent of it and right in front so you could see it from the street was a Cord.

Yeah I forgot about the serpentine belt. That could work. Of course mounting and plumbing it will be a very interesting exercise for sure. Theres a guy on you tube" project mayhem" building a 5.0 Ford with two of these blowers.

Have you thought about using forced induction from another Mercedes-Benz? The KOMPRESSOR uses an electric clutch not unlike an A/C compressor clutch. I imagine something like this could be adapted to an OM603 quite easily. Once the ALDA sees boost either from the supercharger or the turbocharger, it will enrich the fuel injection like it should. You could manually control the clutch on the KOMPRESSOR with a switch on the skinny pedal so you get boost right away. Just a thought.

Yeah. As an alternative to a custom manifold you can mount the supercharger separately from the manifold and just have flexible boost hose adapters on each end.

Yeah I have. So I got the Eaton m90 supercharger today fir 65$ along with a 6 speed from a c230 kompressor, SCORE!! $210 and 3 hrs or so time to.yank it all. Trans, shifter, Clutch and flywheel. They look almost brand new too. The kompressor's eh, compressor is an Eaton m45(I think) and is a baby version of the gm 3800 compressor . I wonder if the nose drive is the same? I didn't have time to screw with the little guy on the kompressor but i did notice it had a small pulley that looked like it may have had a clutch. Only thing about that is that it would need to get itself and air moving with a clutched setup. Granted it would still dwarf turbo lag, but I want it pumping air back out the bypass and as soon as I touch the throttle it slams that butterfly shut and is instantly making boost. Plus once the turbo is making boost the supercharger will be compressing the turbos air even more. Maybe it would open the valve at part throttle to ease up the blower drive for highway mileage. I'll have to see where it will fit. It will be mounted with plumbing, not directly to the manifold most likely. I'm going to get the 6 speed in there and see how it is with a clutch. I've never had a turbo diesel manual so I know getting it boosted up to cross traffic or whatever is easier but I still want to see if there are alot of situations that it's still annoying to have lag.
