Transmission Torque Specs
So, I’m working on putting my 1979 300SD back together.
I’m wondering if anyone can give me the torque specs, particularly for the nose cone bolts and the output shaft yoke and Flex Discs. Thanks, John |

I replied on W116.org, but for those here who might need them in the future:
The nose/tail shaft cone bolt torque specs are 1.3 mkp/12.74 Nm/9.4 lb-ft. The output shaft yoke is 12.0 mkp/117.68 Nm/86.80 lb-ft, and the flex disc bolts are 4.59 mkp/45 nm/33.19 lb-ft (they should be M10 bolts [10mm thick shaft]). Otherwise the book calls for 6.63 mkp/65 nm/47.94 lb-ft for M12 bolts. ![]()
