w123 Flex Disc Recommendations??

Okay, I'm a novice so I'm looking for advice on flex discs.

Which brands should I be considering for an 81 w123 300d with an automatic transmission?

So far my research tells me to keep away from Uro and possibly Meyle.

Thanks!

I put Lemforder felx discs on mine. They are made in Germany and reasonably priced. For my year and model the Lemforder part number is 11039 01

Note there is also a centering bushing/bearing on each end of the Drive Shaft that may or may not need to be replaced.

I replaced one of my centering bushings. In my case I did use a URO one. It is just a metal tube with a plastic lining, a bushing attached to the plastic lining and a seal. Nothing much for URO to screw up there.

You need to put some grease inside of it.

If you do get the OEM Flex Discs see if you can tell us who makes them.

The OEM Motor Mounts are made by Phoenix and Lemfoder grinds the Mercedes Star off of them and sells them as their own Motor Mounts.

Note the Flex Disc removed from mine had the letters JURID on it.

Some of the Flex Discs have to face a specific direction.

The Lemforder 11049 01 has a cross reference number on the box of 126 410 02 17

Lemforder is part of ZF services www.zf.com. Note the Automatic Transmission is a made by ZF.

Thanks for the responses! Obviously the genuine Mercedes flex discs are not cheap but I also don't want to buy ones that are garbage. The OEM options seam to be around $40-$50 which isn't too bad. Is it kind of not known who manufactures the OEM ones? Can I trust them?

I have not noticed anyone posting pictures of any new flex discs bought at the Mercedes dealer. And in fact cannot remember anyone posting that they bought their flex discs from the Mercedes dealer.

With the Motor Mounts it became known who made the mounts from pictures of Motor Mounts bought from the Mercedes Dealer and where the dealer motor mounts are made which is Turkey.

In the case of the Dealer Motor Mount for an 84 300D on the mount itself cast into the rubber is Mercedes Star, the Mercedes part number and the Phoenix logo which reminds me of the Chevrolet bow-tie type logo. There is also a large S followed by a number which I believe is the hardness of the rubber but that has never been verified. The box will have made in turkey on it.

The Lemforder is the same as the above except the Mercedes star is ground off.

I have not seen a similar comparison of flex discs. As I mentioned the flex disc that came off of mine had Jurid on it and I have seen one other pic of a flex disc from another member that also had jurid on it. Have not seen any for sale like that.

The other issue is that Meyle and Febi both have been transition to made in China parts. You cannot be sure where your part is going to be made with them.
