E300 tuning options. Rocket chip or speed tuning usa?
Think I'm going to pull the trigger and get the ecu chipped. Seems like there are 2 options in the USA.

No experience with "speed tuning". Rocketchip is well versed in diesel tuning and has been doing Benz and VW TDI tunes for 15+ years now. I've chipped a number of diesels with Rocketchip and was always very happy with the results.

Only thing that is keeping me from pulling the trigger on rocket chip is where they state the tune has almost no smoke increase
I understand it's wasted fuel and I'm not looking for anything crazy. I want to see a lil black puff when I put the pedal to the floor. Will the rocket tune do That?

Definitely Rocketchip over Speed Tuning USA.
If you do a Stage 2 like I did you will definitely see some black smoke when you floor it.

That's what I was hoping for, I emailed rocket last night and he just got back to me. Said don't expect any smoke other than a light grey cloud under accel.
