Best glow plugs for a w123 300D turbo?

What does everyone think the best glow plugs are for a 82 w123 300D turbo? And how do you test if they are bad? Thanks for any replies.

One thing that wasn't mentioned in the dieselgiant post is that older glowplugs (in my experience) heated up much more slowly than brand new ones when testing using a jumper box. None of mine were faulty but replacing them with new ones helped the car start much easier.

If you want to get proficient at changing them rent Autolite. Other wise as stated Bosch.

Beru Glow Plugs are slightly better then the Bosch Glow Plugs but the Berus cost more and there are less sellers.
Bosch Plugs (80006) have proven to be entirely adequate if they are made in Europe (mine are all made in France). However, there is indian made Bosch Glow Plugs.

All Glow Plugs last longer if conditions with in the Combustion Chamber area happening within specs and the Carbon that builds up between the Glow Plug Tip and the Cylinder head is cleaned out before the new plugs go in.

Thank you guy so much the car starts ok but smoke and runs rough until it's all warmed up then it runs great. Witch it didn't use to. So I'm figuring it is a glow plug or two out. Just wasn't sure how to test them to properly diagnose the issue.

Frequently the glow light on the dash won't light when 1 or more plugs is out. You can test resistance between where the wire connects and ground to engine. That won't technically won't determine whether the plug actually glows but will let you know the circuit isn't completely open.

I test resistance when I want a quick way to find a problem plug. Recently, my dash light was out so I suspected glow plugs or light. I only had 2 plugs in the shop. Fortunately, only 1 plug tested bad and replacing it made the dash light go out and it starts a little easier. I'll order a set of plugs for when they're needed.

I had rebuilt Injectors, valves adjusted, timing done and reamed the carbon out of the glow plug holes and 2 of my Monark Glow Plugs died and did not reach 1.5 years of use here in sunny S. CA. I don't think they would have lasted that long in a cold climate.

I repaced them with Bosch.

If your read the older threads the Monarks are not well reguarded but not as bad as Autolites; which I also tried and on 2 of them the tips swelled and I had trouble getting the plugs out.
