For any of you who may be purchasing the iCarsoft MBii scanner...

Got mine yesterday, worked great....very versatile.

One of the first things I wanted to do is upgrade the software. I'll spare you all the details, but at the end of the process the SD card that transfers the data to the scanner and that must be happy to initialize the scanner got messed up and I was left with a fancy looking paper weight. I'm fairly certain I followed the instructions to the letter.

So I was pretty frustrated. Emailed tech support and they replied very promptly. Here was the critical line: "As for upgrading, the upgrade tools only works on Win XP OS or Win 7 32bit computer, others will not support." My laptop runs Win 7 64 bit.

Thankfully, I have an old XP machine and was able to install the upgrade software, format the SD card, start from scratch, and now all is well.

So it's a great scanner...just make sure you have access to Win 7 32 bit or XP or you won't be able to update.
