2008 ML320 CDI (Older son’s DD) fatal transmission failure, water soaked/fried rear SAM, numerous other issues, just too far gone to save (165k miles)
2008 E320 Bluetec (Younger son's DD) injector failed open and diluted oil with diesel, spun main bearings (240k miles)

The introduction of the w114/w115 chassis occurred in 1968. I guess this was a big introduction to MB as it was the first completely new vehicle in a while. I think they may have made it the start of a new generation of vehicles. Anyway, they celebrated 1968 as a big turning point, so these models were referred to by their year. I guess they were only focusing on the last year of the start date, so they became known as Strich Acht or /8 or Stroke Eight.
