Interior vinly molding on door replacement.

Just "aquired" a pretty mint 83 300D from my parents who have not used it in a while. I had carpets cleaned and new OEM floormats put in and MB-Tex seats, dash, headliner are all VERY nice. Since car was a few years old when we got it, the palomino vinyl that covers the paint around the doors(mainly fronts) above the door panels is "shrinking" and really looks bad compared to the rest. Any source on new vinyl to glue on or ideas on how to fix it? It would almost look better without it the way it is now. Look at lower left corner, the vinyl that meets the door panel is about 2in higher on mine and all wrinkled.

AS far as I know, these are not available. This has been brought up before.

Either live with it, or just remove them.
I agree it does look nice with them on, but the heat over the years makes them shrink, crack and wrinkle.
I removed them on our 80 240D, and it just painted door same color as the rest of the vehicle.

Rears are fine, fronts not so nice. Paint is mint underneath. Wonder if they make a "wrap" film that is kinda the same texture or look, not just color. Maybe shag carpet

Now to find out how to fix my saggy driver's seat spring. Tired of looking like a punk kid leaning sideways down the road.

How it looks, not my butt however, stolen pic from internet.

If you don't like the wrinkled trim the best option is just to remove it. It is painted underneath and most Euro cars did not have the plastic trim around the window.

I pulled mine off a long time ago and never looked back.

What about something like this?

Pro 36"x12" Honey Burlwood Wood Film Roof Skin Canard Wrap for Mercedes More | eBay

Would look like the old 50's Benzos.

They are really easy to just remove. However, they seem to have been originally glued at the ends, though it failed long ago. Does anyone have a suggestion for removing the old glue? I haven't found anything that even softens it yet.

If we're talking about the B-pillar trim, an upholstery supply or shop will have thin foam that can be glued to the back of the trim. You could scavenge some extra vinyl trim from a yard and repair in such a way that the patch isn't particularly noticeable.

I'm not sure what to clean it with but SEM makes a spray that was acceptably close in color (Palomino) for my floor mats and rear deck. Perhaps cleaning and painting will work. I ended up buying a case from Summit Racing.

NO, talking about the plastic trim around the door frame on a W123.

You have a W126. Totally different.
