My 99 with the 7.3 L T444E runs like new at 260k still pulls loaded horse trailers over the passes with no down shifts, THE ONLY repairs needed so far 1 waterpump, 1 clutch and brakes/rotors ...period. Just drove it on yet another 5000mile road trip and it was FLAWLESS. Do you own a dodge or something

The second picture doesn't look like the remains of a burned vehicle. Must be after the frame and the bigger metal bits were hauled away.

At those miles, I would consider brakes, clutch, and water pump to be maintenance and not repairs. I would have expected to do an alternator and starter in there too.

Not a Ford guy myself, but I have to admit that the one Ford I owned served me well.

Hmmm....from reading the article, the fire came from the driver's side wheel well. It makes me wonder if the main cause of the fire was due to the "covering" material, used to disguise the vehicle.

You have the last good diesel PU that Ford made, with the possible exception of the 2014 6.7. Time will tell how it shakes out. Personally, I wouldn't own one out of warranty, as it's virtually impossible to work on.
