Is this hose/line connection correct? ('79 300D)
Quick question. Running through the connections to see if the previous owner left me anything screwy.
Ran across this, and at first glance is looks like a snapped-in-half 5/16" line. But, the right half of it has a bolt clamped into it, which seems intentional. Is this connection okay? What system is it a part of? Back by the battery and trans dipstick.

I'd have to look at mine to compare it to see exactly what's been changed, but it has the general gist of someone bypassing the heater core, usually due to a leak.

That would make sense. Those lines do run into the car now that I look at it. For the record, the heat does function. (the only part of the climate system that does)

it looks like maybe they bypassed the mixer..is your heat when on full heat all the time?
edit.. i was thinking it looks the manual climate control. whats on a 79 300D? auto system 1 with "evil servo"? maybe they bypassed the servo so they'd at least have heat

Meant to snap a pic of mine this morning before leaving for work, and forgot.
Found this through Google. You can see the full size image at: http://www.jaimekop.com/GroverMudd/Engine.jpg
