revised window sticker

Here it is. I've revised the logo to simplify it for printing. I think it still retains its punch. The dims are 5"x5". Imagine the black as transparent. If we can do static decals that would be great.

Comments are welcome (and expected).

Mike

Looks great, but I liked your old design where the "diesel" was curved at the same proportion as the curve of the Mercedes symbol. Know what I mean? What does everyone else think? Just my opinion...

Otherwise, I like it very much. Can't wait till they get printed.

I agree with liking the original design a bit more. I think it has a lot more depth and sophistication to it. Thinking out loud though, I think I will probably also get adhesive stickers printed too and throw those in for "free" (I might add a 25 or 50 cent addition to the cost).

Now what exactly are we doing about the white outlines? Rebootit and Roger both expressed their interest in having the stickers with white outlines of the graphics due to their window tintings. Maybe what I will do is have the static stickers printed with the original design and no white outlines, and have the adhesive stickers printed with the newer design with the outlines. Is this ok with everyone?

Also, what does everyone think about the size? 5 X 5 seems awfully large to me. I thought that 4 X 4 or 3 X 3 would be more appropriate, so if anyone has any opinions on size, please share. I will however give the executive power over the sizing to the sticker designer.

Alex

Yeah, I agree too. I like the simpler "DIESEL". That's what happens when you step away from something for a few hours and look at it with fresh eyes!

Here is the (let's call it) line-art decal in white-on-black...

Cool

Tres bien!

Seems to me offhand that the "original" design would be best on a white sticker, and also offer a black with white outline version on a clear static-cling.

Or was that what was previously mentioned? I got kinda confused *lol*

I dunno how many I'd get *lol* but I gotta get $$ and a Benz first...

Great job to all those involved with the design and implementation of the sticker!!

I agree with CJ, the original design on adhesive, 3x3. On a white background. I like it best because it offers depth in the grays, where the new one seems plain.

DieselHead, if the one described above is just going to be thrown in for free, thats fine also (if it really won't cost you much more). Thanks again for all your work on this.

no matter how they are printed, black, white, or halftone (greys) I still want two. If done in static I can put them anywhere, if adhesive backed I am limited to the window. The only sticker on my car now is the white Apple logo on the left rear window. (I host on 100% Mac machines) so "think different" is not only in the car I drive
Don't forget that even if printed at 5x5 which does sound kind of big, you can still trim the borders. round edges will stick better anyway.

mjkinsley,

Great design, and while they are all looking good enough to put on my cars, (I have no stickers except the mandatory windshield sticker from the State of Connecticut), I like the original one best.

rebootit - glad to see I am not the only Mac/MB Diesel combination on the site!

I will go to the order quantity thread and put in an order for two. I am not particular about the adhesive method, but like the static concept as it is likely less permanent so you can try it in a few places to find out where it fits best. Thanks again, Jim

A note for those with aftermarket window tint - I have never had any luck with static decals adhering to the tint. Seems they need the hard, flat surface of glass for proper adhesion.

BTW: When I finally get a D, I'll have to geta sticker myself.
