'85 300TD, automatic transmission.

I don't know the trans number, or how to find it really.

IIRC an '85 TD came with a 722.315 transmission which has a mechanical speedo drive. You'll find a 7223xx sequence of numbers along a vertical surface on the starboard transmission pan flange. But since you mentioned swap, my question is - what vehicle is donating the prospective replacement transmission?
