Differential assembly

I am posting this about my 90 560SEC. I know it's not a diesel but I'm sure it has the same diff and I more comfortable in this forum and it seems there is more knowledge.
While fixing up my SEC a good year plus ago, my buddy decided to try and help me and in an attempt to R&R the differential he got it about halfway then gave up. Now I want to put it all back together and reinstall it in the car. I gathered all the parts that were scattered around the garage and it seems as though I have extra pieces. I am not sure where the bearings and races that are pictured to the left go, or if they even go to this. I couldn't find a diagram in the FSM or anywhere online. Does anyone have anything that could help get this reassembled?
Oh yeah, and I don't talk to said "buddy" anymore.

Did you check out the w126 service manual?

If you end up not being able to get back together, I have a 2.47 LSD unit for sale also.

Thank you! How was I not able to find that? I looked through the service manual. Figured it would be under Chassis/suspension, just as rear axles were.
That will be a major help. The LSD is SO tempting, but I think I have to take a break on dunping some money into this thing, plus I think it will be waisted on the OM617 I transplanted into it.

Judging from the shape of the carrier and the tag in the floor withmthe bolts, it appears you already have a LSD.

Oh really? Any way to confirm this? As I said, it's a '90 560SEC

"Achtung Spezial-Ol Sperrdifferential" is a tag that denotes this diff is a LSD and requires special gear oil.

Now looking inside of the diff.
Picture of a 2.47 open carrier from a 1986 w126. Notice the curved carrier. No clutch disks can fit in there.

Early 2.47 LSD carrier, picture of a 1987. Notice the "squared" carrier and the clutch disks at the spider gear.

Later 2.47 LSD carrier, pictures of a 1990. Notice carrier now covering the clutch disks. But does not have the shape of an "open" carrier. I think the additional material was added for strength.

Just an additional comment, the clutches look like a stack of big washers on the right of the (large) ring gear.

Well cool! After a little time on the wire wheel I was able to match the text on the two tags. and the internals match the third dif pic. Well bonus. Thanks for the heads up. It's like Christmas.
