UV Fuel Leak Detection
Well, guess I must be the only person with a fuel leak on my 606 diesel...( I got no replies) oh well, the UV fuel additive worked really well and I found the leak...Seriously? no one has used this product before?
Anyway, see how the clear plastic lines light right up? The leak is probably the 2 o-rings on the screw atop the fuel filter housing. $20 at Autozone 1oz is good for 8gal of fuel and it can also be used for transmission, brake fluid, gasoline, diesel, hydraulic fluid etc... |

A leaky diesel?
Wow that must be a first! I've never heard of that happening before! (Er seriously) Nice product I've not used it before I've always relied on dressing up my cars with bits of bog roll and then driving around for a bit looking like some sort of automotive shaving disaster... ...it looks like a good alternative. Do you happen to know if the dye is heavier than diesel so that it sinks quickly to the bottom of the tank and speeds its way through to he piping more quickly? Or is it designed to diffuse quickly throughout the whole tank as quickly as possible? May be it is similar to the dye used in pink diesel?

Interesting stuff. If either of my OM606 engines ever has a fuel leak I'll check it out. BTW, what did you use as a source of UV?
On a related note, WTF, does the fuel shutoff valve (where your leak is) work? My car came without one; I bought and installed the valve but it does not shut off the engine so I built a manual lever for the shutoff on the IP. Jeremy aka Whiskey Foxtrot Oscar

Jeremy, yes the fuel valve works on my car...guess it takes the place of a shut off lever. I' never used it for that purpose and I think it's a poor design that only creates problems. O-rings leak all the time.
