New diesel engine into an old W201

cool article. I thought I would share. The last picture shows the two cars side by side. The W201 looks surprisingly modern. In my opinion, it looks better than the new car.

I agree with that last statement, ... any chance we can see that powerplant in ANY vehicle stateside???

saw this article last year, pretty amazing what can be done with enough money. the W201 still looks better than that new car. new one just another cookie cutter looking car.

there were three HP ratings on the OM616...

1) Not much power
2) Even less power
3) Not nearly enough power!! 240D w/auto

Anyone that thinks a 240D is slow drives too fast.

it is interesting that the engineers had trouble with the electrical side of things too. in any case, that chiseled look of the w201 is just timeless. the new car looks too much like a honda accord.

While I do like the new C class, I really like the little 190. I went to look at one before I bought the SD. I cant imagine a 190 with all that torque!
