New RainX wiper blade "chatter"
Installed new RainX wiper blades on the 300D, even in pouring rain they "chatter" and tend to hop or skip across the glass. It's driving me crazy. The windshield has a few chips but nothing serious. what gives?

They may just not work well with the contours of your windshield. Maybe try a set of cheap Ancos and see if it changes. Did you just change the blades?
Wipers that don't work well are a PITA and you only notice it when you need them...

Do they chatter going both directions or just one way? If just one way, then your wiper arm(s) is(are) bent slightly and not allowing the rubber to "flip" to the other direction.

Wiper Blades
Fall into the Same Category
(You'll Rue the day you didn't Buy Mercedes/O.E.) as Diesel Motor/Transmission Mounts. Get the Bosch "INSERTS" from an Mercedes source. Although,A year ago, a M.B. Parts manager (Who's got a 400E) told me the Current "New" batch of Bosch Wipers are CRAP compared to the Product from 8 years ago.

I've found that even Bosch blades that supposedly "fit" are no good. I will ONLY get the OEM Bosch blade....works perfectly every time.

My friend who works at advance tells me not to buy those. He said they suck and are returned on a regular basis.

thanks for the update, I''ll return them and buy the Bosch OEMs. You'd think with the "Rain X" name they would be good, but I guess not.

A clean, wax-free, windshield helps, too. Maybe not so much for chatter, but to fight streaks from the blades. Different car wash products make the glass harder to get really clean. Some of the rubber blades are also impregnated with silicone and/or graphite that may cling to the glass.
Does water flow in semi-circles on the glass along the path of the wiper? I've used a Glass Scrub and similar products to really clean the windshield when the wipers start acting up. |

The single beam blades don't work well on the contours of the MB windshields. I've gone back to normal bosch ones on all my cars.
