Breaking into W124 trunk
I am going to the yard tomorrow morning to get an interior. The trunk is locked and the key is missing. So how would the trunk open to see whats in there? I'm thinking I may need in there to get the rear headrests out. I dont care if I have to break stuff to get it open.
I can't seem to remember... will the vacuum unlock the trunk even if the key was used to lock it? It's been a long day. Thanks

Take the back seat out and find the vacuum pump (passenger side), take off the vacuum hoses that go back towards the trunk. Now blow or suck into the hoses one at a time, listen to see if you can hear any noise. I think this will unlock it, I hope it works.

I tried that, didn't seem to work. I just cant for the life of me remember if the trunk will unlock via vacuum if the key lock is "locked". I will try again in the morning. If I have to leave the headrests it's no big deal.

It will not unlock via vacuum if the key is in the "stay locked" position. Thats the whole point of that position of the lock....

Whip out a crowbar.
Lift the trunk as far high as you can get it and sneak a 10mm open end to undo the latch. Opens all the junkyard benz trunks ![]()
