w123 coupe mirror removal

Hi,

Ive looked through the FSM, but while Ive seen the two bolts at the bottom of the "guide retainer" as in 72-195, it is not clear if they really hold the mirror on. 72-270 does not show any real coupe specific info... And a framed door on a sedan is surely different than a frameless on a coupe.

So how does the mirror install/uninstall in a coupe? Is there a metal triangle coming off the door that it bolts to for ultimate similarity to the sedan, or something else? Ive not seen any real good pictures or explanation...

Thanks!

I removed the innards on the passenger side to try to improve the adjustment and I think it was pretty much as depicted in 72-270. I don't recall if I removed the whole frame though.

The silver "chrome" panel on the inside (assuming power mirror on passenger side) is plated plastic and may be fragile by now. Use caution when popping loose.

3 Phillips head screws hold the mirror to the car. Remove the plastic chrome like cover.
