I've seen a lot of forum members from all the forums I visit that add the false MPG in just to jack the price up. When I sold my 240 last month I claimed an honest 27.5.

On the mileage thing. He is probably meaning kilometers per gallon & then its imperial gallons not US gallons.

lol, that will be his argument with the buyer drives it home!

Its amazing how dishonest people can be about MPG. Its not like the truth won't come out to the new owner. Plus, many lookers will be people like on these forums, who are no doubt well informed already on these cars.

I love the second part of the first paragraph, where he sets up a case where he can claim that the decreased mileage is a result of your driving style, not a blatant lie on his part.

After reading the ad I was surprised to see a rather nice looking car. I was just wondering who he thinks his audience to buy it is? Are 123s desireable to Gangstas?

I remember selling a set of 17 in rims to the previous asian owner he mentions in his ad,the car originally had a complete hydraulic lift system in it ,when slammed the car almost rested on the ground. It has springs now ,Im wondering if it drives down the road straight after all that alteration.

The one on air is a 240D, not a 300 turbo. This car was unmolested when he bought it. Nice try though.

I could do without the lowering and rims. 38 miles per Imperial gallon seems plausible. Looks like a nice $2000 car.

The problem is that the car is probably at least $3000 away from being correct. Just undoing whatever happened to the suspension will probably cost $1000. The carpets need to be completely replaced, the engine compartment looks disgusting. Who knows what type of other "maintenance" items will be required. At 300k miles, it may well be due for a transmission rebuild. The body does look nice, I might pay $3000 if I was in the market (based on the expectation that it would take another $3000 to make it useable).

My TD also come with a stick. Generally I use it to keep the hatch from hitting me in the head while getting things out of the back of the car...

Thumbs down *** "Hey! Anyone know where I can get a METAL coathanger? I want to tune in..." ***

White tie-wraps to hold the "Euro-Lights" in place? What's the matter? Didn't the kit, at least, come with the proper nylon inserts and screws? Hell, if you're going to use tie-wraps, use the black ones that are ultraviolet-proof, so they won't degrade...*GEESH!*

And on the rear 1/4 panels (both sides), just in front of the bumper-covers...there is a "depression" as if there's rot starting under the paint/paint-over.

And those "funky screws" on the console? They must have had some sort of "holder" mounted in that area...I either missed, or didn't see, the back part of that area to see if there were more "funky screws" or not.

No trunk shots...there's a deal breaker...what's not seen may be the worse part/area yet.

Unless he's able to gaurantee a return ticket for a "view-before-you-buy," I wouldn't go.

Too much left unsaid/unseen to be comfortable with...at any price.

There is not any wheel gap on the front. Body metal Covers part of the tire.

This is more than a 2" drop eh?????

He cut 2 coils in the front, and 1.5 in the rear.

"ALL new suspension (struts, bushings, control arms, etc)"

It will be fairly expensive to undo that mess.
