Sqeaky Rear Doors
I've got a w124.
As I drive on normally roads my rear doors, particularly on the passenger-side constantly squeak. If I move the striker plate in, such that the doors close more snugly, the noise goes away but the doors are hard to close. What do I do? Thanks. |

Start by wiping the rubber down with silicone spray. Primarily the door seal.
Look for places around the edges of the door's trim that might contact trim attached to the body. (spray silicone or adjust) |

Silicone the seals and white lithium grease the hinges and striker.

I had seen some previous post that spoke of replacing the striker after the insert wore. I think that must be on the w123 or w126.
I sprayed a DuPont aerosol that was a wax/Teflon blend. As per the preceding advice I hit the rubber, the hinges and the striker region. Big improvement. Thanks. |
