Beautiful car ! excellent deal!

He "adjusted the rheostat".................

You need to trade one of us with a more broken in model
this way you can get some real wrenching done.

signature soot stained hands as well.

Enjoy and Best of luck with it!

Found the window sticker $31,940 was the purchase price in June of 1985
My wife has a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu and it was only $22,451

Went to the local Import shop and got a Mann oil filter....the last auto parts store filter the O-ring didn't fit the cover

He keep the maintance booklet up and everything is written and signed off to the last oil change @ 95,035 miles
It has had a valve adjustment and 2 transmission fluid and filter services.

Sweet find!

Cool to hear there are still barn finds out there. Just wish I'd find one of them.

Remember to adjust for inflation for 1985 has been almost 100% so our benzs would actually cost $61,000 in 2011 money

If you need tires, you might consider switching to 16 inch wheels and tires.

Plus 205 55 R16 are 0.5% off of orginal at 60mph, thats less off then 205 70 R14's.

This is still the best $5,000.00 car I've ever seen purchased for only $2,500.00. Excellent find! Regardless!

Brought new tires finally today....I ordered them and the balancer broke. I also had the A/C serviced. It blows nice and cold.

Still loving the car getting a hair over 26 mpg
I don't if my other car were worn out but when the turbo spools on this car it goes hard.

Thanks all for the kind words

Wow that is impressive.

The paint should come back with some cleaner wax.

White W123

Great find. Gives hope to us that there are still good finds to be had.

Nice color for a W123 too.

I am really happy with the car. This weekend I will get the oil and filters changed

- Motor Oil and filter, for sure
- fuel filters, both primary and secondary
- AT fluids and filter-- good idea.
- check the hood hinges and lube
- lube the door mechanisms
- check the vacuum controls
- check the little stops which hold the air cleaner in place
- check the idle speed/ starting speed cable
- check that the emergency stop works
- put it up on a rack and check the suspension and steering
- don't forget to check the rear axle boots

Then you will have a wonderful ride.

Consider also buying some pool noodles which you cut up to reinforce the front seats.
