sunroof electrical issue-sunroof relay?

The switch is good. The motor runs when i power it directly and the roof moves. The fuse is good and tested. I have no idea what could be impeding electricity from hitting the motor. Is there some kind of relay? I looked at a circuit diagram on my alldata and didnt see a relay. Anyone else have this issue? Figuers, the car went to macco and came back like this. Also for $2800 this thing has more orange peel than a brand new corolla. Bummer

Had the same problem with my W115 today. It opened up fine, but wouldn't close.

I had 12.6 volts at the switch, the switched tested fine with a ohm meter. I checked for power the sunroof motor, only getting 7 volts.. hmm. I used a wire brush and cleaned the terminals on the fuse holder and the switch and that solved the problem. I was now getting 12+V to the motor.

Ok guys I feel stupid about this one. I had checked the fuse and "spun" it in its holder to break through any galvanic corrosion between the fuse holder and fuse but after I finally got fed up and started checking continuity I found the the fuse disintegrated upon removal. I guess it had hairline cracks that I didn't see. I went ahead and replaced every fuse for good measure and now Im going to relube the sunroof cable. I went to the dealer for the grease and they wanted me to buy a little tub of gleitpaste for $92 so Im going to use vaseline and see how that works.

Hold off on that vaseline. The very pricy Gleitpaste is THE stuff to use. Check around here, there used to be some members selling smaller containers of the GOOD STUFF for a lot less. My understanding is that using anything else is asking for future trouble. YMMV.
