Need part number for H&R OE 124 Wagon Springs?
I am looking to put new springs in my 1987 w124 300TD wagon with minimal drop. I imagine these would be the same as for a 300TE but I cannot find a set for the life of me for either! Does anybody have any info on this?

See, all of those are LOWERING springs of some sort when I do not want a 1.5-2" drop. I am looking for an inch or less. Although I may have to settle for a standard set of sport springs with some spacers.

At their site h&r shows OE, sport, and race. However, they do not have Any OE listed for my car.

Although I'm not convinced that H&R was original equipment, they probably mean original equipment equivalent ride height and spring rate.

if you want OE why not use genuine ones? part number is 124 321 22 04. i believe the OEM is lesjofors and you can get these from an aftermarket vendor for about 90.00 each, from the dealer they are a bit more.

No, I would like a bit more firm than stock. Maybe I misunderstood but I thought Bilstein made "OE" which would drop the car just a little while improving the vehicles ride a bit as well. Maybe I can find a PN for some sportline wagon springs.

"OE" means Original Equipment (same part/spec/manufacturer as original w/ part number)
OEM means Original Equipment Manufacturer although typically not held to original specifications and without original part numbers. You apparently mean neither?

check to see how many nubs are on your original rubber spacers
1 nub = 8mm 2 nub =13mm 3 nub = 19mm 4 nub = 23mm might be able to adjust just using different spacers new springs will also take a while to settle, requiring a second adjustment to reset heights

Aah, now I understand, it's H&R's designation.
Not familiar with them on a M-B, sorry. I've had H&R Sport springs on a VW cabbie, didn't like the very harsh ride, lowering of course reduces the suspension travel and causes you to either have a much higher spring rate or bottom easier (on the cabbie it was both). Personally I'm pretty happy with how a well-sorted original suspension rides and drives, with 215-65/16 Michelins, feel that I gained much more in all aspects than harsher shocks/springs/swaybars would have given me considering all of those would have required a harsher ride, the 16s did not. JMO. Of course I have the good fortune to have driven several of mine when new, know how they are supposed to drive and ride.

Yeh...I have not had that pleasure. While mine is in great condition and the engine runs like a top, the suspension is not how it should be. Never has been. On the list is replacing the rear shocks and mounts...$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Rear shocks are big $$$, a shame if they're shot. There is occasionally one being parted if you'd consider used, but it would be a "crap shoot" whether the used ones are any better than your original. In general it seems that many of the white over blue dealer service wagons carried a load through their first couple/few years, but many never saw more than an occasional pooch or bags of groceries in the cargo area, dampers are often in excellent condition and damp well.
It's surprisingly reasonable to buy the kit with all of the rear suspension links, which only leaves the swaybar links, lower wheel carrier bushings, and subframe bushings, really tightens things up and makes the ride/handling nice.
