I've seen that car for sale before. Either someone dumped it or they've been trying to sell it for a looong time.

Yep, that car looked familiar to me too. And looky what I found in my "Random MB pics" folder. These are from Oct. of '08 so I'm guessing it was for sale then too.

Obviously this has to be the same car. Those seats certainly are one-of-a-kind!

Looks decent to me. Maybe the engine has been swapped, so what? Its an old car. Green is not my color but I would buy it if I needed one.

YES. This deal is real. I live 5 miles north of Pittsboro and I have seen and sat in the car!

The guy selling this is a professional mechanic. He works on MB and Jags.

He has had this car for sale since last summer (summer of 2009).

The interesting thing about this was the the interior had to be ordered from Germany as well as the rubber molding around the rear bumpers.

The car is legit. PM me if you want more details.

I remember sitting in the car last summer and noticed how 'taxi-cab' ugly the seat coverings were.

Apparently, that is period-correct.

I also remember the seats were very 'smooth'

Good to know. May be in for a road trip this weekend, if it's still for sale.

Somehow I would not be surprised if those seats are factory!

Well, if it is at all helpful to you, the posted price when he had it for sale outside his shop was $7500. That was last summer.

In my opinion, he made a special effort to make it period-correct. The interior is indeed olive and the seat covers are proper. Ugly as it is in my opinion.

Worth a look. The name of the shop is "Dias Automotive". It is in Pittsboro NC just 20 miles west of Raleigh.

Is that plastic where the Wood trim would normally be? That is a great looking car in IMHO. If I were in the market for a unique ride, I would be all over that.

I don't remember about the plastic where the wood should be. But I do remember rowing through the gears and it felt good. It was Honda-smooth. That part was impressive.

Probably decided to sell because he couldn't sit on those seats anymore and concentrate to drive at this same time.
